The wall that the US is constructing between itself and Mexico has been likened to the Berlin wall, which was officially alled “anti-fascist protection barrier”, by Mexican President-elect Felipe Calderon. Maybe here the BNP will now call for an anti-european protection barrier, effectively a wall between Northern Ireland and Ireland and a wall in the Eurotunnel. In their fascinating fantasies foreigners are no longer allowed to fly, so that there is no need for stringent security procedures at British airports. Maybe this is something that should be suggested to Bush. Only let Americans fly into and out of the US. Everybody else take the boat. Man, sometimes this world is not a nice place to be.

Yesterday was fun. Yes, it was one of those days. After having met with Hugh, we found Alba at Picadilly Circus and walked the few meters to Captain’s Cabin, a small but nice pub just off lower Regent Street and Haymarket.

I knew that the “Germans in London” meeting would be on. We were building a little international conclave among all the German speakers. Anyway, it was fun and I got reasonably drunk. There is another meeting on saturday, but I am not sure if I am going. Afterall, we still have to have those birthday drinks Ray promised us, but canceled last minute.

Today I got drenched while getting a sandwich for lunch, as rain started to pour down torrentially. The weather is so unsteady, with rain, then sunshine, then high winds. The only thing that is missing, is… better not jinx it.

So, let’s do this thing for Desi and get on with the day. So much to do, so little time…

Oh, My sister is coming home from University for the weekend. Will be good to see her.

I somehow seem not to be able to go to bed before midnight. I have finished the reorder of stock for the shop, compiled a new CD with music I am planning to play next weekend, and cleaned up my computer. I wondered why so little space was left on my 80 GB harddrive. No surprise there. I deleted over 30 GB of junk and old music and videos. A lot of it was junk my sister has stored. Then again, 1.2 GB for Monkey Island 4??? Where is the logic in that?

Anyway, I am just about dead here.

PS: Tonights drinks were canceled, as the birthday boy had celebrated too much the night before and was too hungover to come into work today.
