invalid plumbers are the new black

When we moved into our current house (the one surrounded by horses) we learned that it had been uninhabited for several years previously. For that reason our landlord had installed a new boiler, new double glazing in some rooms and made a few other great improvements before we moved in.
Now that we have been here a while it turns out that some of the radiators are leaking a bit, the hot water tap in our kitchen has a bit of a temper and the boiler is loosing pressure, usually through the excess pressure escape, leaving a nice brown stain on one of the back walls of the house.
So we had the plumber around (kindly paid for by our landlord). The plumber however was no good, not turning up for appointments, etc. So we had a different plumber around, he turned up, on time (!), on Monday.
Whatever this guy does on weekends, he should reconsider his hobbies, he could barely move. He had somehow done his back in, obviously leading to great conversations (not!) between him and my dad, who also occasionally suffers from back pain. Anyway, he did a tour of the house, looking at the various heaters, the boiler and the plumbing under the kitchen sink. I still have no idea how he managed to get back up from the kitchen floor. Never have I heard so much groaning outside of pornographic movies.
Anyway, he went away to give the landlord an estimate cost of the work required. We are hoping to hear (not literally) from him again next week some time. Apparently the heaters need power flushing, which sounds like fun.
