I have had this phone since, I don’t know, 2004, 2005, whenever it came out. Anyway, what I’m trying to say, I’ve had this phone a very long time by mobile phone standards.
On Monday I had to send my BlackBerry Bold away for repairs. The trackball stopped working properly, getting stuck, randomly changing direction or not working at all. The same fault needed to be repaired four times on my BlackBerry Pearl. I just hope that this is no indicator of things to come. However, I really wanted to praise the 7100v. Even though the battery is incredibly old, I only had to charge it once on Monday and on Friday morning the status still indicates a 25% charge. The archaic browser displays, with hesitation, websites utilising google maps. Yes, it takes a while on wap, but it works and I can use the mobile versions of twitter and facebook.
Ok, there is no camera, which is why this post has no pictures, and there is no media player, but it was quite refreshing to find out how much less distracted I was this week as the various apps that usually interrupt me all the time to alert me to the latest updates on the blogs I read, the facebook notifications and tweets coming in from Twitter don’t work on this phone.
Mind you, I don’t advocate going back in time technologically and the moment my BlackBerry Bold has been repaired this relic will go back in the drawer, but I’m sure it will still function well when my next BlackBerry is, for some reason, out of order.
